Tuesdays during the summer are my weekly girlfriend bike rides. I meet Gwen, one of my closest friends, for our weekly gratitude cycling adventures. Our journeys take us around the DC monuments, through the parks, or along the local waterways. There is no particular agenda or pace. Instead, we savor the small things, make new friends, and soak up the experiences along the way.
I so look forward to our leisurely 25-mile two-wheeled adventures. We laugh really loudly and giggle like teenagers for over two hours. We share our blessings as we cycle down the D.C. bike paths. Our ride is always followed by a healthy dinner and more laughter.
Take out your phone and set a daily reminder for a “Gratitude P.A.C.T.” Start this evening and continue every evening. Give thanks for one thing in your life in each of the following categories: people, actions, comforts, and talents.
Here’s my Gratitude P.A.C.T. from last night:
People: I’m thankful for Gwen.
Actions: I’m thankful for laughter.
Comforts: I’m thankful for my Cannondale road bike and padded cycling shorts.
Talents: I’m thankful for my ability to balance on a bike.
