Last summer the jalapeños on my deck garden were so bountiful that we couldn’t eat them fast enough. I would sit at my computer and watch each day as they grew bigger, plumper, and bright green. They gradually turned orange, and then red. (Little known fact, a red jalapeño will set your mouth on fire.) Over the course of the next week the jalapeños would begin to shrivel and rot on the vine. “What a waste,” I would think sadly.
Imagine a life where you are always growing and learning. Invest in yourself. You’re worth it. The only way to be “too talented to ignore” and to become masterful is to keep learning.
Here are three ways you can grow today:
- · STOP:Wasting time at the window. Waiting time . . . looking out a window at the airport, or on an airplane, in a car, or in a doctor’s waiting room.
- · START: Using “window time” as a time for learning. Listen to TED Talks or Audible books, watch YouTube videos, or read blogs.
- · TODAY: Start a list in the Notes App on your phone called “Window Time Growth Activities.” Find three things to add to your list. Finally, pick one thing you want to learn more about.
My wish for you is that you’re always green, always growing, and that you’re never rotten.
Here’s to selling Mastery.
